Who We Are

Educational Philosophy

Education Philosophy

Central Christian School exists to help parents fulfill the biblical mandate given to them by God to “train up their children in the way that they should go,” and collaborate with the church in teaching and discipling children in God’s will and way.

Our responsibility is to provide a Christ-centered education, which develops the spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional, and physical areas of the child’s life.

Our heart is to make provisions for the individual differences of development and experience, then to challenge each child to his/her fullest God-given potential.

Our approach to education requires that God and His Word be the focal point through which all learning and living are experienced. Using Teaching for Transformation (TfT) as a guide, CCS invites, nurtures, and empowers both teachers and students to play their part in God’s story through engaging learning experiences.  TfT is a design framework for the creation of authentic, formational learning experiences rooted in a transformational worldview.  These learning experiences are designed to ensure that teachers and students continuously grow as learners – life-long learners. As formational learning experiences provide opportunities for students to practice living the throughlines, they also provide opportunity for students to form the following habits of learning: creative thinkers, gracious communicators, joy-filled collaborators, and courageous designers.

Through TfT, each teacher is challenged to develop a Deep Hope, which is a sixty year vision of what they hope their students will become, then plan Formational Learning Experiences (FLEx) that encourage students to do real work that meets a real need for real people.

In the stories below, you can see how through the practice of engaging in meaningful school work, school work that is kingdom work, that our students are forming a compelling vision and desire for living within God’s story. As engagement and motivation increase, so does a student’s mastery of curricular content.
