Student Support Services at Central Christian School serves students in kindergarten through 12th grade by providing intentional, student-centered support that promotes growth in every area of development. In alignment with our mission to glorify God through dynamic relationships and meaningful learning experiences, we offer academic intervention, literacy and dyslexia services, executive functioning support, and classroom accommodations within a Christ-centered environment. Student Support Services Director
The Student Support Services Director leads the coordination of student learning plans and ensures that appropriate supports are designed and implemented across grade levels. This role includes guiding accommodation plans, reviewing student data, consulting with faculty and families, and addressing academic and social-emotional needs that impact learning. The Director provides oversight of services while promoting student responsibility and long-term skill development. The focus of this position is creating systems of support that allow each student to access the curriculum with clarity and confidence.
Literacy & Dyslexia Specialist (K-5)
The Literacy and Dyslexia Specialist delivers structured, evidence-based reading intervention for elementary students with varied literacy profiles, including those with characteristics of dyslexia. As an Associate-level certified practitioner through the Orton-Gillingham Academy, the Specialist provides systematic, explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, fluency, and written expression. Assessment data is used to design targeted lessons and inform instructional decisions. The emphasis of this role is developing proficient, resilient readers through precise, skill-based instruction.
Student Support Services Aide (K-5)
The Student Support Services Aide provides supplemental literacy instruction for elementary students using Orton-Gillingham–based diagnostic and prescriptive lessons under the direction of the Literacy and Dyslexia Specialist. Working with students who benefit from structured reinforcement of foundational skills, she delivers consistent practice aligned with each child’s instructional plan. Her instruction strengthens accuracy, automaticity, and reading confidence while supporting steady skill progression. This role ensures timely, developmentally appropriate intervention within the elementary program.
Student Support Services Teacher – Secondary Building (Grades 6-12)
The Student Support Services Teacher in the Secondary Building supports middle and high school students with established learning plans. She manages the implementation of accommodations and modifications across subject areas and provides direct academic assistance as needed. In coordination with classroom teachers, she reinforces organization, study strategies, and executive functioning skills that promote greater independence. Her work ensures that students in grades 6-12 are equipped to meet academic expectations with appropriate structure and support.
Speech and Language Pathologist (Elementary)
The Speech and Language Pathologist is a licensed clinician who evaluates and treats speech, language, and communication needs for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Services address articulation, expressive and receptive language development, and social communication skills that influence classroom participation and learning. Intervention plans are designed to support measurable growth and are integrated with classroom goals when appropriate. Through professional, evidence-based care, the Speech-Language Pathologist strengthens the communication skills essential for academic and social success.
