Lindsey Fineran

2nd grade

After receiving a degree in Travel and Tourism, Mrs. Fineran traveled the world, pursuing her passion for different cultures and places. She attended Capernwray Bible School in both England and Austria,  and did a bit more traveling and mission trips while living in Europe before moving to Alaska.  That’s where she finally decided what she was called to do with her life. She was called to teach! After completing her teaching degree at Whitworth University, with an emphasis in special education and reading, she went on to teach in Africa, China, Germany and finally in the United States.

After contemplating a move from Salem to Central Oregon for years, Lindsey and her family made the jump this summer to move to Redmond and  accepted a 2nd grade teaching position at CCS.

She loves 2nd grade since it’s a pivotal year when reading is solidified and students go from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". Reading is a huge passion of hers and she loves sharing that with her students as the world of books opens up to them. When one cannot travel in person, they can still visit far off places and different times all through the magic of a book.  She truly values communication and strives to create a safe and inviting classroom culture where each of her students feel loved and appreciated.
